Jackson Hole & the Grand Teton, August 2010:
My first visit to the Tetons to climb was very cool.
I would definitely recommend it to just about anyone! And I hope to get back soon for more!
This was a personal trip and a good one. Weather and conditions allowed for my good buddy Dave and I to do a 14 hour (car to car) climb of the Grand Teton.

Mt. Shasta Breast Cancer Fund Climb 2010

Dear Friends & Family,

This is an annual event for men and women who come to climb Mt. Shasta as survivors of the disease, or who climb in honor of a loved one. For the last 7 years I have had the privilege of guiding this climb and helping raise money for this worthy cause. In the past I have donated part of my wages to the BCF, this year I have decided to set a fundraising goal of $1000, and am looking for some help from you.
We have all been touched by this disease, and can help the Breast Cancer Fund defeat it by: donating some of our time, some money, and helping to increase awareness. The BCF is different from many other cancer related organizations because it identifies and advocates for the elimination of the environmental and other preventable causes of the disease. A growing body of scientific evidence is linking breast cancer and other cancers with exposures to environmental toxins. Rather than trying to simply find a cure, the BCF wants to prevent the disease from ever stepping into our lives.
The annual climb is a powerful event, and it is the first piece of guide work I put on my schedule each year. Please consider supporting this great cause.

Mt. Whitney CA.

Spring ski season is in on. I was lucky enough to get the hall pass for a Eastern Sierra ski mission this week and finally made it down to Mt. Whitney. Although Mt. Whitney is not known for its amazing skiing it is a peak that's gotta be done at some point right? At 14,491 ft It is the highest point in the lower 48. Like most big ski tours this day had it all: Crust, corn, powder, knee deep post-holing, sun, wind, and some good turns as well. Pretty psyched to have had good weather and the chance to knock this out in a day.

Ecuador 2009 Wrap Up

The Dec 2009 Ecuador Expedition was great! That was the third trip I've lead down there and I plan to go back for many more in the years to come. We had: mellow hikes on trail to help acclimatize, snowing and blowing snow and ice climbing, amazing Ecuadorian food, a massive cravasse blocking our route, beautiful sunny summit days, and much more, all in one trip... I love the big glaciated volcanos, The high altitude huts, the climbing, the people and the culture. The great Haciendas we hang out at between climbs are pretty great as well. Every year we hook up with Luis, for his driving, cooking of local cuisine, and tons of logistics. He IS the man down in Ecuador. I'll let a pile of photos tell the story...
